The had turned gorgeous and I wound up walking way more than I had planned. I was exhausted and about another hour walk away from my hotel. (London, 2023)

I walked into class one day and as I was setting up for lecture I looked up and saw that the trees had exploded in color (Carthage College, 2018)

I was on a ship in the Hawaiian Islands waiting to get a good sunset shot (none were actually good). However this throw away shot turned out to be one of my favorites (Hawaii, 2008)

Even though I know the monument is geographically “off” I couldn’t help but put Rob the Hound Dog in all 4 states. As always, he was a good sport. (4 Corners, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, 2005)

I found this sculpture of Sandino to be powerful because it lacked physical detail as it overlooked the city. (Managua, Nicaragua, 2007)

Whenever I see seals on the shore (or on the docks) I am amazed at their lack of need for personal space (San Francisco, 2003)

The new Northwestern Mutual tower was under construction on this lovely afternoon in the harbor. (Milwaukee, Wisconsin, 2015)

My fondest memories of this space were in 1978 when I was staying with my abuela and the fiesta patronales was going on. I have a deep affection for plazas throughout Latin America. They are often beautiful and centers of activity. (Fajardo, Puerto Rico, 2015)

It was a torturous meeting with a great view that day. (Milwaukee, Wisconsin, 2018)

We stayed down the road, but I had to walk over and take a few photos before we hit the road that morning. (Holbrook, Arizona, 2005)
