I was having lunch with a friend the other day and she was talking about going up in the lighthouse for the solstice. As I was listening to her I realized I lived across the harbor from the lighthouse and I had never climbed up it–but I have a number of photos, (Kenosha, Wisconsin, 2012)

I have been down to Kenosha a few times in recent weeks. The lighthouse was purchased in 2011 and is privately owned. Living on the harbor was always beautiful–days like these were especially so. People forget that the weather around here is often spectaular in September and October–warm sun and cool breezes. (Kenosha, Wisconsin, 2012)

Although it is a “retired lighthouse” it remains a centerpiece in Honolulu Harbor at Pier 9. I have some daytime photos, but I like this one better. (Honolulu, Hawaii, 2008)

Faro del Castillo San Felipe del Morro is the lighthouse at the entrance to San Juan Harbor. It was rebuilt in 1908 and is one of the most prominent sites at El Morro. (San Juan Antiguo, Puerto Rico, 2003)
