When I was doing field work in the Superstition Mountains, I tried to arrange my work schedule so I could have lunch here. One of my standards for a Mexican restaurant is that they serve menudo. Even if you don’t like it, it is a good litmus test for the whole menu being good. This…

I was enjoying the dhow (boat) traffic. These are mostly used as tour vessels in region. At one time, they were fitted with sails and were the cornerstone of the pearl diving industry. (Doha, Qatar 2016)

I had the opportunity to travel to Qatar and present at a conference panel with my friend Maher (far right). To be honest I was sitting there pretty amazed by the country and the conference. I have no memory of saying anything coherent. (Doha, Qatar, 2016)

I was actually on a vacation with friends and I was taking a call. My friend shot this and it reminded me that I was supposed to be relaxing. (Sedona, Arizona 2005)

I got invited by a colleague on a trip to measure snowfall in the Arizona mountains. On the way home, we flew over Sedona near sunset. (Sedona, Arizona 2005)
